Much of you have seen her modern-vintage montage of scrapbook pages in the recognizable publication, Creating Keepsakes, and at the avidly popular kit club, Studio Calico. Maggie Holmes is a long-standing member of the scrapbook community as both a scrapbook designer and photographer. She lives in Arizona with five beautiful children and a loving husband, in a home that is reflective of her colorful, fun bright design style. Her scrapbooking outlet has lead her to the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team, five years running. She also serves on the Studio Calico Design Team, and has taught a record number of classes off-line and online. When she's not meddling with paper, she's carrying a camera, photographing families, weddings, and adorable kids. She teaches basic photography, advanced photography and a December Daily Photography class at her website, Maggie Holmes Design. Alongside this latest course is another at Studio Calico titled "25 Days".

I'm super excited to be guest designing for Crate Paper! I have been a long time fan of all their products and have even been known to hoard certain things because I love them that much!
I have two layouts to share with you today along with a mini tutorial for creating the title on my "Baby" layout.
My scrapbooking style is very eclectic and I love the mix lots of different products and mediums together. It's very common to see clusters of things on my layouts like this. It makes me happy to see so many cute products all tucked in and nestled there together!
And here is the complete layout which uses a lot of the new products from the On Trend Collection:
~
Next up is a baby layout using the Little Bo Peep Collection:
To Create the custom "baby" title, here is what I did:
Cut out the word "baby" on cream or white cardstock using a die-cut machine like the Silhouette.
Spray a couple different colors of pink mist on the title. For this one, I sprayed quite a bit of the mist and then rubbed it into the cardstock with my fingers. This gave more of a water color effect instead of a sprayed effect.
Next, spray a shimmery mist like the Studio Calico Shine onto the title and rub that around.
Once it's dry, use a Slick Writer to outline the title.
Adhere it with foam squares so that it stands off the page a little bit.
