The CP Design Team is expanding, taking on more new members than ever before, and bringing with it a different angle that we think ideally caters to Crate's evolving, more modern, eclectic design style. They're a talented, photo-savvy group of artists and we just know they'll knock your socks off when the spotlight shines it's light on their creations in the coming months. Here is the final set of gals to join the team....
Hi There, my name is Janna Werner and I'm from Oldenburg, Germany - together with my husband and our dog, Sindri. My passion for anything paper and paint related started in April 2010, scrapbooking and mixed media art totally captured my heart.
I'm an occupational therapist and close to finishing my Bachelor Degree in education/social science. I love working with people, so I started teaching scrapbooking and mixed media online classes in 2011. I'm also co-publisher of the German scrapbooking and mixed media magazine, "Die Scrapperin". Being a part of the Crate Paper Design Team is a dream come true. I can't wait to get started and hope to inspire you with my creations.
Alphas: Honestly, I'm addicted to them. Crate Paper offers so many fabulous alphas that can be used either solo, or as a mixed batch.
Eclectic Buttons: Honestly, there isn't a project that couldn't use a sweet CP button, is there? They're a great alternative accent to use amongst other things on a project. No matter the shape or size, they're always welcome in my stash!
Patterned Paper: I like light, colorful papers. I adore them in any size, small or large, patterns included.
Hello, Kaori Watanabe here - It was Autumn of 2008 when I first came across scrapbooking. My son was just over one years old during that time. I decided to make photo albums for him to keep as lifetime treasures. I have a very precious album which was made by my parents. It's nothing like a scrapbook album, but I treasure it so much because my parents made it especially for me. I thought it important to make an album for my child that is just as precious as the album my parent's made for me. So, when I first came across scrapbooking, I totally fell in love with it upon first sight. I'd always been into design, so it didn't take long for me to grow obsessed with the hobby. Today, I still create pages about my son and include numerous photos of him when compiling a layout. Outside this preferred, popular subject, I also like to chronicle every day moments through scrapbooking, so everyday photos are a regular feature of my work.
Random Collection: The collection is very cool! I love it's color palette - one of my faves.
Story Teller Collection: I'm particularily fond of travel themed collections, this one included! The chipboard accents are awesome!
Paper Heart Collection: The gentle colors of this collection make this another fave.
My name is Michiko Kato. I live in Osaka, Japan with my dear husband and our three lovely girls. I've been an avid scrapbooking since about 2007 and alongside the hobby, I like photography too! I especially like snapping photos of my children.
If I were to describe my scrapbook style, I'd reference it as simple, clean shabby chic with the primary focus being that of collage. It's also quite playful and extraordinarily detailed.
Hi Everyone, Piradee Talvanna here! I've always been a crafty person, continuously creating or doing something, and was introduced to the world of scrapbooking in 2008, when I relocated from Thailand to Singapore for work (I'm originally from Bangkok). It was there that I walked into my first scrapbook store and quickly became addicted to all the beautiful papers and fun embellishments. Scrapbooking not only allows me to explore and challenge my creativity, but also helps me to de-stress after a long day at work. I scrap the wonderful memories that my hubby and I are creating here.
Chipboard Elements, Tag/Journal Card Patterned Paper, & Phrase Stickers
With every Crate Paper collection, these are the first three products that I can't wait to get my hands on (and double up on too); I just adore the designs of these products and they're a perfect addition to any project. A definite must have!
Hey there, my name's Rahel Menig and I'm so excited to be able to design for CP another term! I live with my three boys in the South Bay Area of CA. These boys are my husband, Adrian, our cat, Dexter, and our funny bunny, Jynxy. I've been scrapbooking since I was 14 and I just love the smell and feel of the paper! My most recent adventure is the step into Wedding Photography. I just love to work with couples and make sure that their most special day is captured for them to remember forever.
Pattern Paper: Like I already mentioned, I just absolutely adore paper! Especially the kind that is soft and kept in light colors..yum!
Buttons: These are not only totally awesome on paper projects, but are super cute on pillow cases!
Brads: I've never really liked brads until I got my first pack of CP brads. I love the high quality paired with the fun colors and sweet patterns!
Hi again everyone!! I'm Sasha Farina, currently living in Sunny Island Singapore with my family. I think we will be living here forever, but who knows what's coming? Life is an adventure, right? I've been 'making stuff' forever. I'm that girl who can't seem to leave the stationary/art and craft department. I love hand-stitching on my layouts, on linen, on tags - you name it. If it can be pierced, I'd probably stitch it! I also love to bake. My current favorite is this household-browned butter chocolate chip cookies. I've been making batch after batch to the point at which I can mix the dough with my eyes closed.
The journey with Crate Paper has been awesome so far and I'm ecstatic to stay for another term!
Paper Heart 6 x 6 Patterned Paper Pad: I love Paper Heart, but with the smaller scale patterns - you can say my love has turned into an obsession! I can't stop using the beautiful papers!
Story Teller Chipboard: I've almost used up the whole sheet. What a perfect collection to complement my travel album!
Buttons, Brads, and Bingo Chips: This is a staple. I don't think my projects are complete without them. Tons of designs, and endless potential :)
My name is Sophie Crespy. I live in the French Alps with my husband and two very lively young children. I teach french literature and language part-time and spend the rest of my time scrapbooking and reading stories to my children. I love to be home surrounded by my books and scrapbooking stash! I'm a Pinterest addict and mamarazzi! I studied and taught in England for a while, a long time ago: I still enjoy interacting with English speakers! I started scrapbooking five years ago in order to record the small moments of our family life and also, to discover a way to express my creativity. I need my daily dose of scrapbooking to stay balanced and happy. My style is colorful, fresh, graphic, and girly!
I have loved Crate Paper products since discovering the "Restoration" collection. Here are my three must-have Crate Paper products:
Brads (especially the fabric ones): I love their gorgeous colors and the fact that they can bring both dimension and texture to my layouts.
Stickers (Emma's Shoppe and Pretty Party are my favorite): They're so easy to layer and use to make your own unique embellishments.
Accent Cuts: I love long journaling! I also use them in a grid design as a base to embellish!
Hello, my name is Teka Cochonneau currently residing in Orlando, FL. I'm a full time wife and mommy who loves documenting my families life through crafts and blogging. I have been married to my wonderful husband Eric, a fellow artist, for four years now and before becoming a mommy to our beautiful daughter, Charlotte, I worked in the graphic design industry illustrating and making marketing materials. After our daughter was born, I was introduced to scrapbooking by my MIL and fell in love with all the papers, patterns, and tactile elements. Now, I love funneling all my creative energy into making scrapbook pages, photography, sewing and other paper crafts. I'm over-joyed about being a part of the Crate Paper team. I can't wait to get started!
My Number one favorite Crate Paper product would have to be the patterned paper! But if I have to choose "right now", I'm loving Legend, from the Story Teller collection. I like the versatility of this piece of paper and how one side is beautiful florals and the other side has a map and small faint details.
Border Stickers: They're perfect for adding that little extra detail to almost any page.
Brads: I love how Crate mixes sizes of both fabric and epoxy brads, it makes it super easy to find the perfect one for a project!
My name is Stephanie Dagan. I live in France at the seaside not far from Paris where I was born. I followed my husband to Normandy 14 years ago no and since, we have three wonderful children: Oscar 10, Clementine 8, and Eugene 6. I started scrapbooking eight years ago. I'm passionate about the craft. I do not spend a day without scraps or photographs in my hands to create something. I'm fortunate to work with people on the other side of the world thanks to this passion and I find it totally incredible. I'm really, really happy to be returning another term on the Crate Paper team with so many talented girls!
Patterned Papers: This is the first item I mix to create my projects. I'm totally in love with the stuff!
Stickers: Small, large, detailed, simple - They're simply amazing!
New Wood Veneer Shapes and Brads: I like the mix of materials - lends that perfect final touch to my layout!

Hello Crate Paper enthusiasts! Christine Middlecamp here, Crate Paper's Design Team Coordinator and Blog Contributor. First, please allow me to congratulate Crate Paper's Fall 2012 Design Team! I feel a great amount of gratitude and joy to be working alongside such a diverse, ever-skilled group of artists. Four years in, and I still can't believe the creative spirit that thrives within the community and the talent that comes from it. That said, you'll notice a large number of new team members joining us - the good news, Crate Paper is growing! Expanding the team ultimately translates into more inspiration of all kinds. From basics to over-the-top advanced, there's lots to be had just over the horizon. Stick around to see the new team in action! Congratulations again, CP Girls!
On a more personal note, life is well in Minnesota! Now that Summer is upon us, we've taken to the water via splash parks and kid-friendly pools! There's also the daily sprinkler sessions thanks to my son, whom loves water more than anyone else I know. Laugh. Of course, there's finally opportunity to scrapbook again. I'm working on a couple of projects that are currently "in progress", including a guest class spot with our sister company, Studio Calico. Also in the works, three brand new Crate Paper layouts! Oh, how I love the new collections!! You will too, I promise.
Mark your calenders, jot it down on a post it note, or add it to your iPhone - Crate Paper's Collection Presentation starts tomorrow - stop by to find out the details as to how to win Crate's CHA releases, and to admire Crate's peppy, fun newly updated designs. It's going to be a "trendy" time!
