Hey Everyone! Kinsey here with a fun tutorial on upcycling your Crate Paper Sticker Label Sheets.....
The Essentials: Crate Paper Label Sticker Sheet (of your choosing), Patterned Papers, Matching Cardstock, Other Misc. Embellishments, Spray Mist, X-Acto Knife, Craft Paint, and Fine tip Brush.
So let’s get started! First, peel the label background away from the backing sheet and stick it to your shirt a few times to make it ‘repositionable’. Position it on your background cardstock and spray with a color mist (I used Mister Huey’s Clay for my example). Note the position of your sticker sheet so that it best orients the design you want to create.
Peel the label backing away from the background cardstock and once the mist is dry, use a fine tip paintbrush, and a few different colors of craft paint, to outline the shapes. (You could also use marker or stitching to outline as a fun, alternate substitution).
Use an x-acto or "craft knife" to cut the centers out from several of the sticker shapes. Make sure to position a cutting mat beneath the work surface prior to beginning this step.
Carefully trace, trim and adhere patterned papers and photos to the cardstock background wherever there are cut-out "windows".
Add journaling spots and a few embellishment assortments inside some of the shapes and call it a day! Crate Paper's brads & small chipboard pieces are just a few of the items I went ahead and positioned inside my shapes.
The thing I love about this technique is that the element placement essentially done for you..it's like fill in the blank scrapbooking!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and hanging out with me -- be sure to check back tomorrow for some more awesome ideas from the CP Girls, including "Simply Crate"! We'll see you then!
