We've tremendously exciting news for you today! Crate Paper's officiated their Spring 2011 Design Team!! That's right, it's that time of year again! With four new collections soon to be released (hint, hint - check out the design team banner!), we thought it the perfect opportunity to bring forth the designers in which you're already well familiar with along with a couple of new designers just recently added! Possibly wondering who those new CP Girls might be? To find out, we recommend staying closely attuned to the Crate Paper blog as we're devoting the entire week to introductions! We welcome you to get to know each of the girls as you'll be eyeing their Crate Paper creations here the next six months! Most importantly though, they'll be assisting us in presenting the new collections beginning next week via their handmade projects, which we'll be posting in conjunction with the big premier! So stay tuned...we're just getting started!! There's much in store for you here as we near the start of CHA!

- I hate the end cheese. You know that wrinkly end piece on a block of cheese? Can't deal. It weirds me out.
- I love theatre, like seriously LOVE.
- I scrapbook on the floor. And a concrete floor in the basement at that. No kidding! And it's not like I don't have a scrap room, not to mention a few desks and several chairs. Crazy.
- I'm married to my high school sweetheart. He asked me to homecoming my sophomore year and the rest is history. We got married when I was 19!
- Although I haven't done it in awhile, I love to hook wool rugs. It's quite the primitive art form, but you get some funny looks when you tell people you are a hooker. Maybe that's one reason I switched to playing with paper -- saying you are a scrapbooker sounds better.
- And on another crafty note, I have made primitive feather trees in the past. Time consuming, but interesting.
- I once went with a dance troupe in high school to Australia. Very fun.
- I love to collect vintage things: typewriters, thermoses, games, buttons, pillow cases and sheets, books, photos of people I don't know..that last one is a bit odd.
- I twist my hair. My mom has said I twisted hers before I ever had any of my own. Now my two year old little boy does it. I find it quite endearing.
- Before I decided to be a stay at home mom, I was a dental hygienist. Only floss the teeth you want to keep, people.

My name is Kaori Watanabe (also known as Chelsea). I live in Hokkaido, Northern Japan with my hubby and three year old son. I started scrapbooking in October of 2008 after completing a full album about my son. To this day, I still create pages using mostly images of my son, though Outside this, I also enjoy scrapbooking about everyday affairs. While scrapbooking, I'm especially fond of using numbers, alphabets and vintage ephemera. I'm also crazy about designing layouts as well! I thoroughly enjoy the design process that follows in the foot steps of scrapbooking!

- Prior to kids, I worked in the housewares industry as a Creative Director in Marketing.

- I was married on a sandy seaside beach in Hawaii in Y2K. It's been eleven wonderful years.
- My favorite sweatshirts always have holes in them - not as a rule, but by default.
- I am a Mac.
- I love cherry sour balls and the darkest of dark chocolate.
- My achilles heel is for Starbucks lattes.
- I love using silly words like wack-a-doo and ban-o-nkers (for example to the kids I will say "You guys are driving me ban-on-kers!" Bananas + Bonkers = Ban-on-kers!) They find it amusing.
- Chiffon makes my skin crawl.

- I have to read my email with a cup of coffee in the morning for the day to start right.

- My favorite television shows are Merlin, Life Unexpected and Vampire Diaries.
- I dislike exercising a lot.
- I loved scuba diving and plan to get back to it with my kids.
- I love brussel sprouts and lima beans.

We'll continue to bring more the designers forward as we move through the week - note one of the newest CP Girls, Kaori Watanabe! She joins us all the way from Japan! We've been a regular follower of Kaori's work for quite a long time, so we feel especially grateful to have her a current member of the team and know that she'll inspire everyone with her beautifully detailed layouts.
