Hello Crate Paper friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, much to my kids' sadness, we didn't have snow here in Denver, but it was a wonderful Christmas at my house, nonetheless.
The sketch participants this month were amazing! With the end of the year festivities, I didn't think we'd get more than 10 entries. I was very wrong! We got so many great entries, lots of holiday scrapping getting done all over the world despite the busy schedules! You guys made my job very difficult. So many fun interpretations of the sketch, so many great stories captured on paper, I really enjoy this part of the challenge. My pick for this month's winner followed the sketch in a creative way, instead of keeping the blocks as sketched, she enlarged one of them and turned it into a foundation for the photos and elements. I love that she kept the journaling and title similar to the sketch, having a lot of room to journal means you can tell the story behind the photos.
Congratulations go out to Anthea, please send your contact information to info@cratepaper.com and we'll get that $40 Two Peas gift certificate headed your way! Remember, new Crate Paper will be coming out next month, just in case you're interested (WINK WINK).
And here's why picking a winner was so hard! Look at this lovely work by Juno. I love how she used the vellum to create a wintery feel. Add her paint splatter and it's the perfect way to showcase the snowy photo that she featured on this page. The upside down snowman made me smile too. Go check out her blog, lots of eye candy for sure!
How could resist these big brown eyes on Nadia Cannizzo's layout? I love how she used the Bliss Collection stickers to create her title. Her staggered stickers behind the photo are a great way to frame it, and a great way to use up half used sticker sheets! Then you can get more! :)
Another Christmas photo shoot made it's way onto a layout, this time from Fleur Smith. I just love the simplicity of her interpretation, lots of tiny elements fill up the spaces of the sketch. And I loved her choice of the background paper!
And finally, Wendy Antenucci repurposed a holiday chain countdown on this layout. How very clever! She'd made a chain for her kids to help keep track of the days until Christmas, then used the discarded pieced for this layout. I love that she shared so many photos of her family's holiday prep this year.
Thanks to each of you who shared your beautiful work this month, it was definitely a treat! I'll see you soon, hopefully with some new Crate Paper to share!
