Hello CP friends! Kelly Noel here to share with you a fun flower tutorial. Since I'm a Mama to two boys, I don't get to scrap with pink or make girly things very often. I do, however, have two adorable and girly nieces and I decided to make them something fun to put in their rooms. We boy Mamas like to use pink sometimes too! ;)
Here's what you'll need to make these flowers:
Paper Doll chipboard pieces
Paper Doll cardstock stickers
Lizze paper
Allie paper
Olivia Grace paper
So, I've seen these "fan" flowers popping up everywhere in home decor and fashion. They are super quick and fairly simple to make. First, you'll need to cut a strip of patterned paper to whatever size you like…mine was 1.5" by 12". Then, you simply do an accordion type fold to the entire strip…it'll end up looking something like this:
Once you're finished with that, take the two ends and attach them together (either with glue, tape or a small staple) creating a circle.
Next, start flattening out the circle so that the pattern side is facing upright…like this:
Now, you'll want push the top down and it'll create the flower shape we're looking for. There are probably lots of ways to get it to stick and stay, but I punched a circle from another patterned paper and added glue dots to the center of the circle. Then, when I pushed down to create the flower, it stayed put.
To add detail to your flowers, you can embellish the centers with stickers or chipboard pieces for a fun finished look. These flowers are great for anything…layouts, cards, and minis, or you can attach them to a little wooden dowel and add them to a vase for a sweet home decor item like I did.
I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial on making these sweet little flowers…if you try your hand at making some, be sure to link us up here so we can check them out too. Have a great day! :)
